СТАТУС КОМПАНИИ
Компания «Татнефть» – одна из крупнейших в нефтегазовом комплексе России. Основная деятельность компании «Татнефть» осуществляется на территории Российской Федерации. Компания является холдинговой структурой, в состав которой входят нефтегазодобывающие управления, нефтегазоперерабатывающие, нефтехимические предприятия, а также предприятия и сервисные производства, реализующие нефть, продукты нефтегазо-переработки и нефтехимии. Кроме того, Компания участвует в банковской и страховой деятельности. Компании в настоящее время предоставлены лицензии на разработку 77 месторождений в Республике Татарстан, где сосредоточены основные запасы нефти республики. Одновременно «Татнефть» участвует в капитале и управлении рядом ведущих нефтехимических предприятий Республики Татарстан. Реализуя программу стабилизации и восполнения запасов, Компания развивает бизнес-проекты за пределами республики – как на территории Российской Федерации, так и в странах ближнего и дальнего зарубежья, в целом укрепляя сырьевую и нефтеперерабатывающую базы и расширяя рынки сбыта. Ежегодный объем добычи нефти Компанией составляет более 25 миллионов тонн, газа – более 700 миллионов м3. The high intellectual and technical potential of OAO TATNEFT made it possible for the Company to stabilize the volumes of crude oil produced from the ageing oil fields, continue development of the hard-to-recover reserves at the most difficult period of the domestic economy transition to the market. The stability of the oil production in the Republic today is provided for by introduction of up-to-date technologies into prospecting, exploration and development of the crude oil fields as well as of up-to-date methods of the oil recovery enhancement methods.

THE COMPANY’S STATUS
OAO TATNEFT is one of the largest companies in the oil and gas sector of Russia. Tatneft Company performs its major activities within the territory of the Russian Federation. The Company is a holding structure, which incorporates oil and gas production boards, crude oil and gas refining companies, as well as enterprises and servicing works selling the crude oil and also the products of crude oil and gas refining and petrochemical products. In addition to this the Company is also participating in the banking and insurance activities. The Company has been granted licenses for development of 77 crude oil fields in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan where the major crude oil reserves of the Republic are concentrated. At the same time Tatneft participates in the capital and management of the leading petrochemical enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan. Implementing the program of stabilization and replacement of reserves the Company is developing business projects outside of the republican limits within the territory of the Russian Federation as well as in the near and far-abroad countries, strengthening the raw material resources and oil refining basу and expanding the sales markets. The annual production of the Company amounts to over 25 million tons of crude oil and over 700 million cubic meters of gas. One of the major Company’s priorities is environment protection and providing for production and industrial safety. The most important component of Tatneft Company activity is upgrading and development of new crude oil production methods. Development of progressive science-intensive technologies as well as increasing the scope and diversity of high technical industrial services rendered strengthen the innovational potential of the Company and provide for one of the essential competitive advantages of OAO TATNEFT in the industry branch.

STRATEGIC INITIATIVES AND TASKS OF THE COMPANY FOR THE PERIOD OF 2005-2010
* Stabilization and optimization of profitable crude oil and gas production from the licensed fields of the Company through application of progressive technologies of the fields development and wide application of the latest oil recovery enhancement methods as well as through extensive reserves replacement outside the borders of the Republic of Tatarstan;
* Providing for financial steadiness and economic stability in the highly competitive environment and changeable market opportunities through establishing an up-to-date corporate management system;
* Strengthening of the structure and the value of the Equity Capital;
* Increasing the volumes of the highly competitive finished products sales through further development of the own crude oil and gas refining and commissioning of petrochemical production works;
* Formation and implementation of the innovation-oriented engineering and technical policy. Expanding the geography and increasing the volumes and assortment of the technology intensive and science-intensive services rendered;
* Providing for the high level of the corporate responsibility and social protection of the personnel as well as assisting in development of the small and medium business while optimizing the production structure.
THE PLACE OF THE COMPANY IN THE INDUSTRY BRANCH
With regard to the oil business sectors the Company is surrounded by the leading Russian Oil Companies operating in Russia such as OAO LUKoil, OAO Surgutneftegas, OAO Sibneft, OAO TNK-BP, and others. In the petrochemical sector the Company competes at the market of tires in Russia and other CIS countries mainly with other Russian tire manufacturers such as manufacturing factories from Yaroslavl’, Omsk («Sibur»), Voronezh («Amtel»).
The factors providing for the high level of competitiveness are as follows:
* Development of the own crude oil/gas refining and petrochemical works;
* Application of progressive technologies providing for profitability of reserves development and the high crude oil recovery level in the fields of OAO TATNEFT while maintaining the competitive level of expenses;
